The enigma is really WHY did the government chemically castrate Turing? At the time they welcomed contributions from Nazi rocket-scientists with open arms. Turing was never a Nazi was he? Surely the race was on against Soviet Union so Nazis were welcomed with open arms but Turing our greatest war-hero was driven to chemically-induced suicide. Why? Could it be because Turing didn't like collaborating with Nazis?
