What is left unsolved? How many more Bitcoin-like insights are left

Having decided to drop out of threads involving bitcoins until I have carefully reviewed my own positions (I know! What on earth am I doing on HN?), I was inspired by the below essay.

So if bitcoin is a worse is better solution, if it uses no new breakthroughs and just a unusual combination of existing technologies, what else is out there, what other problems exist looking for a worse solution?

Examples I am trying to think of is ability to easily create markets in any area,

Ereceipts as a solution to product reviews

Supply chain transparency (which could use the block chain)

Make sense to anyone?
