Hello! I’m Cameron, founder of Bindle, the AI Workspace for Everyone. My first tech job was almost five years at Coinbase. I was employee ~175 when I joined, and by the time I left, I had almost 4,000 coworkers. If I learned anything, it’s that we should have been more diligent about writing things down. That’s the core concept behind Bindle – it’s an AI workspace for exploring and documenting the institutional knowledge in your and your team’s web apps.
Most of us juggle 3-8 web apps daily, each with their own siloed organization systems. While desktop apps are unified through your computer’s file system, web apps remain disconnected islands. Bindle creates a central folder structure for your work across all your web apps, bringing the familiar desktop experience to the cloud. When documents in your workspace contain sufficient content for classification, Bindle’s AI automatically files them into magic, self-organizing folders (called Bindles). All content is instantly searchable and queryable through Sidle, our AI assistant, no matter the source application.
We wanted to build a tool anyone can use – a workspace that breaks down barriers and invites everyone to explore AI's potential. Bindle aims to occupy the same space as Dropbox and Google Drive, making tools that are broadly useful to individuals, small businesses, and corporates alike. We’ve heard from tons of users who want to keep their busy workspaces organized and document their team’s work, and we’re building for all of them.
Beyond traditional file browsing, we’ve built a new visualization called Timeline View, with daily summaries of all your work and project contributions that makes async standups and project handoffs effortless. Bindle’s interface looks like Google Drive by default, but you can switch to Timeline View in any of your Bindles.
We’re just maturing out of our MVP, so we’re still making things like search and Shared Bindles work a little more smoothly. We’re also working on bringing Slack conversations into Bindle (it’s great context for your project history), and we’ll soon be deploying Sidle right within Slack – so you can search and ask questions about your documents in Bindle from a familiar workspace.
To hold all this together, we’re using a Next.js frontend and NestJS backend, with a PostgreSQL and pgvector database powering both the file system and search/RAG. We use various Azure ChatGPT models across all the AI functionality in Bindle, and all integrations are OAuth based. Other than IDs and creation date, no customer data is visible internally at Bindle, and our models don’t collect any data.
• We’re still managing a budget of LLM credits, so we need a waitlist to ensure we’re scaling responsibly, but I’m personally onboarding users starting tomorrow. We won't send you anything other than a confirmation and an invite to onboard to the platform: https://bindle.work/#waitlist
• Also check out our launch video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ekyou0GIuY
• And if you have any questions, you can reach me at [email protected].
We’re still in the earliest stages, and I’d love to have you try it out. If you’re at all curious, please join the waitlist, and I’ll reach out to get you onboard as soon as possible!
