I started building Font Tester couple of months ago to help me pick a good font from Google fonts page without having to constantly try them one by one on my website.
Surprisingly a lot of people had similar problem and had taken off, so I continued developing it and added features such as custom fonts upload, kerning, weight adjustments, compare fonts and more to make it easier to test custom fonts.
My journey has been a but bumpy but this is my first product that had performed well, in terms of revenue. I started with an MVP and focused only on developers developing websites without Design files, and got 3 pre-orders for the pro version and once i re-released on product hunt on November it gained more traction and made ~$870 selling lifetime license in the last three months.
Last month (Jan 2025), I found more use cases and decided to talk to type designers, since it could be used to test their fonts or even demo during lettering workshops. Tried to reach out to quite a number of Type designers and finally a great type designer Adam gave it a shot and shared some great feedback, so make sure to check him out as well: https://ladd-design.com/
Also recently, decided to try something different with the landing page, mixed a bit of moder, neo brutalism, and vintage style and changed the copy. Still working on it though.
I would love to hear your suggestions and feedback on Font tester especially if you are a web designer or type designer.
