Last year, we launched NeetoCal at https://www.neeto.com/neetocal. Neeto is a 100% remote company. We are building many products, which require a lot of communication.
NeetoCal is not the first company to compete with Calendly. We are not even the second company to compete with Calendly. We are probably the 30th player in this crowded space. With so many players in the market, scheduling software seems like a commodity.
One of the basic tenets of a commodity product is that the price would be low because of the intense competition and undifferentiated products. The competition is indeed fierce to be Calendly alternative. Almost all the products offer the same features, and the switching cost isn’t much.
Then why did we build it if it's a commodity software with intense competition?
BigBinary/Neeto has 120+ employees, and less than 5% of them were paying for the scheduling software. Does this mean the other 95% do not need the scheduling software? No. They need it and want to use it, but the cost of it prevents them from using it. The average price is around $10/month. Remember, we are talking about folks in India, so $10 is a lot.
And then it hit us. NeetoCal needs to be built so that more people can afford scheduling software. We think existing products are way too expensive for the value they provide. This soul-searching also helped us understand that "affordability" is what NeetoCal is all about.
So, we decided to highlight the differentiating factor—affordability. We believe NeetoCal is much more affordable, as we are very price-competitive.
We believe that NeetoCal will be an indispensable tool for an effective remote team. At Bigbinary/Neeto, it already is.
Please give NeetoCal a try. We would love to hear your feedback.
