In light of the recent acquisition of VMWare by Broadcom, I was frustrated trying to dig up some of their previous takeovers, the details of which are often buried behind freemium market analysis sites.
I was hoping to find some sort of interactive timeline or family tree outlining the various M&A activities within the tech industry that have occured over the years. Surely there's a way to track basic data around each party through a GH project? The amazing Linux Timeline [1] would be a great inspiration, but distributions only split, not merge.
There are some OK static visualisations for mergers in the libtech industry [2]
Infocaptor also host a visualisation for Google's M&As [3]
