The Writer's Strike is wreaking havoc on the VFX and post-production industry. VFX studios are digging deep into Excel hell trying to model dozens of "what if" scenarios. Often they are bidding multiple projects and multiple episodes which means multiple variables.
Some are trying to figure out what happens if Stranger Things Season 5 delays filming two months, or four months, or six months? Do they need to cut back staff? What if House of The Dragon pushes out and their award is only half what they expect? Can they stay in business?
I'm using software we built ([whatifi.io](http://whatifi.io/)) to model out a bunch of what if outcomes for this use case.
Instead of rows and columns and formulas and spreadsheets, whatifi is a node-based, decision-tree scenario builder riffed off of technology and workflows from the VFX industry. Decision-makers can connect together a series of pre-built business logic events to VISUALLY build out dozens (if not hundreds) of “what if” scenarios - all in real time.
Think Miro or Lucid Charts meets Excel w/ a splash of Final Cut Pro.
And here is the video explainer for this model again. https://youtu.be/JtODMx9cp7A
Oh. And it is Friday and we launched on Product Hunt.
