I posted some time ago about AI Search, an AI-powered search engine that down-ranks results containing ads as well as anything coming from content-farms. It summarizes the actual text to avoid click-baity headlines. It basically helps you avoid wasting time reading things people have put online just to capture your attention. Legitimate sites are still allowed top spots, and you also have the option to white-list/black-list domain names in case you have a preference (for example, Stack Overflow contains ads but in most cases users will want to white-list that site). The search engine is especially helpful when searching for "best XXXXX 2023". For example, if you search for the best local restaurants in your area, it will give you results usually containing sites like the Michellin guideAI Search came to be some time ago but we noticed many users were reluctant to sign up in order to use it. Because of the costs associated with running it, we've kept the sing-up wall until now. We have now decided to offer it for free and registration-free for its killer feature (down-rank junk) but have kept an optional premium option for users who want to utilize the powers of LLMs to the limit and want AIs to summarize the content of each result for them before having to clik on them.
