I want to share a project I've been working on, especially given the loss of verification blue checks today on that other site.
We're journalists who were frustrated with how news works online. The vast majority of Americans -- and even more under 40 -- get at least some of their news from social, even if they say they don't trust social media. Further, local news is even harder to get in the hands of people who want it, because by definition it appeals to a more narrow audience.
Forth.news is a newsfeed that looks like social media -- you can sign up to follow individuals, topics, and organizations -- but the feed is exclusively populated by vetted journalists. We're definitely still ramping up our coverage, so there are some blind spots -- but the idea is that you can see what's happening in your area, and get news you can trust, free of spam, misinformation, or hate speech.
We have lots of stuff in the works -- including a mobile app, liking posts, etc -- but we're building as we go.
We'd love to hear any thoughts - founders (at) forth (dot) news.
