  I would avoid doing this at all costs, unless it’s something you’re particularly interested in for some reason.
  In my opinion it’s not a job you want to get stuck with, and it’s not a job you want to advertise you can do or you will get stuck with it because no one else wants to do it.
  Go straight to learning modern HTML and build a website. By the time you’ve figured it all out it will be easier to understand email templates anyway but still hell.
  Sincerely, a guy who got tasked with doing email templates when my colleague broke his leg. I’d rather have broken my own.
  Edit: didn’t mean this to be rude, just venting because I found it difficult!
