I use TOTP for every site that supports two-factor authentication. When setting up 2FA for a new google account, I can choose: SMS/call, security key or google prompt. I don't have a security key, I would prefer not to log into google with my work account on my phone, and I would prefer not to be susceptible to sim swapping.
