Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) is a rapidly growing space (85.41% CAGR) with an $86 billion TAM by 2027. Hardware devices are being replaced with digital and software devices (think wearables, mental health apps, diagnostic platforms to detect diseases, etc.). Unlike hardware, software devices experience constant updates and releases, making adherence to regulations really difficult. Yet engineers are expected to code the product AND figure out how to properly document the product’s design and development to meet regulations. This crushes med-tech startups, whose innovation is slowed down by regulations they are ill-equipped to address in order to prove their products are safe.
I'm going to change that by developing an Application Lifecycle Management platform (ALM: https://www.figma.com/proto/xoXGZhiU0nDLI2isBUncgj/Figma-Wireframe-Kit-Free-Community?node-id=1392%3A237&scaling=scale-down) built for SaMDs so developers can deploy regulated products faster without being quality experts. I have 7 years in the B2B startup space and was the first sales hire (Director) at two early stage startups (under 10 employees) and built a revenue engine that got both companies to $10M in ARR and $50M+ in venture funding. I know how to get a company off the ground and successfully create a repeatable revenue model.
Maybe you are interested in medical technology. Maybe you saw how COVID-19 transformed the world and forced software into the healthcare space to support patients remotely. Maybe you want to change the world and work on something that has a positive impact. This is a real opportunity to do something meaningful.
If interested please send an email to [email protected] and include (1) something you've built that you're proud of (2) a phone number I can reach you at.
