Edit: a lot of these tweets will start to show up as unavailable as twitter automatically deletes the offending tweets and bans/locks the hacked accounts. At least twitter is taking action and deleting the posts within 10-30 minutes instead of many hours.

This one hacker group is able to steal 5+ verified accounts/day. I am still trying to figure out how they do it.
If it weren't for crypto, hacking and spamming twitter would not be nearly as lucrative, so that is part of the problem. The financial incentives are so great. Nowhere else can you literally make $300k in 1 hour with 1 or 2 tweets..i am not kidding about that given how much BTC has gone up and the extreme gullibility so many crypto holders. Also, it helps greatly that Twitter does not allow users to moderate their comments, so the scammers will make posts and then block whoever's profile they posted on, so the scam is invisible from the perspective its target. Good luck trying to post that shit on a YouTube video comment or on reddit...that shit would be deleted so fast, but on twitter the scams stay up for hours or longer.
