The collection of stories shows that women, BIPOC, and other minorities are boxed out of promotions and repeatedly made to feel like they don’t belong. Taken as a whole, the campaign exposes how systemic discrimination is the result of many individual actions.
Many workers tell stories of repeatedly being the target of microaggressions and made to feel like they don’t belong.
Despite most large companies reporting data on the racial, gender, and other demographic composition of their workforces, there has been little improvement. Big tech is still dominated by white males at all levels of power.
We hope that we can force meaningful change by bringing people together and organizing collective actions.
Big tech is more powerful than it's ever been so it's never been more important for us to push for equity. The more people share their stories the more we can provide a detailed roadmap of what changes need to be made and how we get there.
We invite anyone who has faced discrimination to submit a story at https://discotech.tech/techtruths
