Why IPFS won’t probably be powering RPKI anytime soon

For our masters thesis, myself and another colleague looked at the possibility of using IPFS as a distribution mechanism within RPKI (Resource Public Key Infrastructure): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resource_Public_Key_Infrastructure.

The summary of our research findings is that, in general, IPFS performs worse than HTTP at content retrieval. This poor performance characteristics would probably be the reason why IPFS won't be explored as an alternative distribution mechanism within RPKI in the nearest future.
