Virtual Events is the new norm. Pixz is paving the way

Let’s face it, social distancing has made life kind of boring.

No vacations, birthday parties, shows, meetups, startup conferences, festivals or concerts.

In this new world of isolation, people are yearning to connect and share with others.

What if we could have virtual events to fill this void?

A private virtual venue where we could share photos in real-time on a shared interest or topic just as we would in person. For example, someone could host a virtual dog show or fashion show. Anyone in the group could submit photos of their dog or outfits and people could like and comment in real-time from the comfort of their living room.

My name is Michael Kelso and I am the founder of Pixz (https://pixzapp.com)—a new photo sharing app for groups and events that allows people to crowdsource photos together in real-time without hashtags or uploads. We quietly launched our startup in January and have been growing steadily until COVID-19.

The cancellation of events led us to rethink our business model and come up with creative ways to continue to grow our startup. We had to take a hard pivot, but one I believe is timely and well-suited for the world of tomorrow.

You can schedule an event like "Cupcake Challenge" and invite people to join. Photos taken with Pixz are shared instantly and privately. Other group members can comment, like, and share photos in real-time. At the end, the person with the most likes or comments wins the challenge.

I believe Pixz is a platform that can meet the need for social connection and bring people out of isolation.

Pixz is a free download available in the app stores.
