My name is Patrick, the maker of https://www.tickgit.com/, a tool to help developers do project management using TODOs (soon FIXMEs, HACKs, XXXs, etc) in their code comments.
The product is free for any public Github repo, and today I'm launching a $3/month paid plan for private repos.
TODO comments seem to hit a nerve on HN 2 months ago: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=21910391 and I'm really hopeful that I can build a tool that many developers will find useful. There's a free open-source command-line tool: https://github.com/augmentable-dev/tickgit, which can be used on any local git repo.
I would love to know how I can make this project useful for you and your team and have been humbled by positive responses so far. I have a lot in mind to improve tickgit, and hope to be rolling out the following soon:
- Support for more and custom phrases (FIXME, HACK, PERF, etc) - Better searching and filtering in the web UI (show me TODOs I created, show me TODOs older than 1 year) - Advanced comment parsing (extract markdown, ticket references, assignees, due dates, custom fields) - Better CI integration and policy enforcement (disallow TODOs in master, ensure TODOs have a specific format, etc) - More higher-level stats (TODOs per LOC, avg time to TODO removal/close, etc) - Pricing for organizations/teams - Gitlab/Bitbucket support? - And more!
I hope you find this project interesting and really appreciate any feedback!
Thank you so much for your time and please feel free to reach out
