I would like to make my blog my own, build out the scaffold and use a CSS framework as a head start.
Rather than just plunking down Bootstrap and moving on, I would prefer to have a more hands-on approach with some other frameworks.
I've used Zurb Foundation in the past, mostly as an antidote to seeing Bootstrap everywhere, but lost interest when I found Tachyons -- which was the first thing in a long time that gave me a 'wow' moment.
Real life got in the way, and things slipped, and now I'm trying really hard to re-rail and improve myself. I am going to dig into Tachyons once more, and I've also long-listed these frameworks for a test drive:
* Inuit (https://github.com/inuitcss/inuitcss)
* Tailwind (https://github.com/tailwindcss/tailwindcss)
* Pure (https://github.com/pure-css/pure)
The blog environment is straightforward: a PHP + MySQL CMS running on Nginx. There's no React, Vue, or other JavaScript magic. I'd like to minimise or remove reliance on any frontend JavaScript if possible. I don't need a static site generator.
I would like to make a good-looking, performant site and be able to understand what's happening, learn about the building blocks and become less reliant on the framework as I get more confident.
With all this in mind, what other CSS frameworks are worth looking into?
Thank you, and seasons greetings to you all if that's your thing.
