I've been stuck at taking it only since I lacked the time and skills. Recently I partnered with my employer to take this step. We started rebuilding it in React Native so we could also do iOS [3].

For reasons we chose GraphQL first, but it is a bit hard when the plan is that you can use the app offline without an account. More about that journey here [4].

End result is we now launched the iOS version to be like the Android version first (no online accounts, etc). It has an unholy use of GraphQL to store data in SQLite, and I'm eager to step away from Expo.

At this moment I would like to iterate quickly on the iOS version, but we need some users (you perhaps?) to provide feedback. The goal is to take Idea Growr online with a freemium business model. No ads, but you pay for online storage and some premium features.

So love to get your feedback on the iOS app [3] and it would also be interesting to hear from anyone who made an app that actually works offline first (can do so for a year) without an account. The most used frameworks (GraphQL, FireBase, etc) all seem to assume your users have an account from the start and are supposed to be online (I call that 'online first').
