Ask HN: Any Python libraries I can use to build a photo ID verification system?

I am curious to see how things like Jumio's NetVerify system works under the hood and how you could replicate something like it an ID system they don't cover.

I know in general there is stuff like object recognition and matching etc, but i am more interested in the actual process and if there are any libraries out there that could be good to start off with.

So far i have discovered PassportEye (https://pypi.python.org/pypi/PassportEye) which might be helpful.
