Interviewer to Candidate: Tell me how does one go from point A to point B in a City.

Candidate : you look up google maps and key in point A and point B and you fetch the result. You then take a print out and you follow the route according to the map.

Interviewer: You forgot to mention that you have to key in maps.google.com in your browser window. [ has already begun thinking that the candidate cannot think through].

Candidate: Ah, I forgot mention that step, I thought it was obvious [Interviewer has already decided to pass on this candidate, he now decides to go though rest of this canned questions to the 'access' the Candidate. The Candidate tries futilely to answer the interviewer's questions which never really seem adequate to the interviewer.]

Take away: Well, developer shortage? Well it's more like the fact that developers have not intellectually matured to a point where they do not realize that someone who is as capable as them or more, can express a thought in way that is different and may sound deficient compared to their own way of articulation.
