Ask HN: Status of Google's intent to remove Symantec certs

About three weeks ago there was an announcement about Google planning to distrust Symantec issued certificates in Chrome[1]. There was a lively discussion on HN[2].

The gist was that for Chrome 59:

1. All Symantec-issued certificates with validity longer than 33 months will be distrusted

2. EV indicators will not be shown for all Symantec-issued certificates regardless of validity period

Now that Chrome 59 DEV has landed I see none of the proposed changes. Where can I find information about status of this proposal. Is it still discussed, postponed or ditched?
