Developers can use Blockcerts to build apps that create, issue, view, and verify blockchain credentials for academic, professional, and civic purposes (e.g. University degrees, trade certifications, state licensure, etc.). The project uses Merkle trees for batch issuance while supporting individual certificate expiration and multi-party revocation. The MIT Media Lab Learning Initiative and Learning Machine have released a full ecosystem including a mobile wallet. All code is open source (MIT License: https://github.com/blockchain-certificates) and there are good docs (http://www.blockcerts.org) and a Slack team (http://blockcerts.slack.com) supporting the project.
