I'm curious what has resulted from this transparency?
I'm sure many of the effects can be coupled to the societal benefits I hear Scandinavian governments provide. But can anything be objectively stated due exclusively to wages being public knowledge?
Have salaries increased? Such as they have for executive pay when made public. http://freakonomics.com/2009/05/14/ceo-pay-blame-it-on-the-next-guy/ http://www.slate.com/articles/business/the_dismal_science/2009/05/comparison_shopping.html
and if so, have they or will they stabilize?
How has this affected company profits?
Are there less full-time jobs?
Has the cost of living increased overall? I know that Scandinavian countries are typically more expensive to visit (for holiday) than their EU counterparts.
Do people find it difficult to survive? or save/invest for the future?
What are some of the other societal impacts?
