Ask HN: Where/how do you test apps on physical devices pre-release?

We're an early stage startup with apps on iOS and Android, with about 200 paid users at $15 mo.

With our latest app update, we saw a couple of users report crashes on their devices. We immediately fixed those crashes and updated, but I'm considering measures that we can adopt to prevent this in the future.

Until now, we've been testing the app on a Nexus 6, iPhone 5s and Xiaomi Redmi Prime before releasing.

We're now considering between Amazon AWS Device Farm (https://aws.amazon.com/device-farm/) or using Firebase Blaze Test Lab (https://firebase.google.com/pricing/).

Thoughts on Amazon/Firebase, or any other service you use, or the need to at all test apps?
