Ask HN: Are there IoT devices (actuators/sensors) of good quality?

Matthew Garret is doing a great work buying a lot of IoT devices and figuring out that their security is crappy: http://mjg59.dreamwidth.org/

Are there good IoT/smart home devices? Or maybe there is a list/wiki/whatever of devices which someone with a security mindset tested already?

There are lists like https://github.com/HQarroum/awesome-iot , but they are pretty thin on actual sensors and actuators, and mostly enumerate software projects and generic-purpose SoC boards.
