About a year ago now, Apple removed Launcher (a notification center widget with icons that let you open apps that have URL schemes) from the App Store. They said it was a misuse of the widgets feature (which, to me, is quite surprising...). More recently, Launch Center Pro, Workflow.app, and a few others have gotten features that do the exact same thing. In fact, there is a new "prefs:" URL scheme that can only be launched from Notification Center and not from in an app. What changed?
